Recovery leaders in relation to their JGS Scoring Differential at the 2024 AJGA Junior Players Invitational.
Recovery is a great way to measure mental fortitude, which is an important metric at a PGA-Tour level golf course like the Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass, where many players got off to a less than ideal first round. Pavel Casas from Mexico was led the field in recovery, as he did 13.5 strokes on average in the final rounds compared to his first round. Casas, who started his campaign with a poor round of 87, recovered with rounds of 79 and 75 in the final two days. Mingbo Jiang of China and Adam Villanueva of Texas also had an impressive recovery, as they both played the final two rounds under par after a poor first round. Remember, recovery is a measure of mental ability, and does not necessarily display a player's entire range of skill.
