Performance leaders in relation to their JGS Scoring Differential at the 2024 Bubba Conlee National Junior.
Mike Liu from Lake Mary, Florida performed the best in relation to his JGS scoring differential out of the entire Bubba Conlee field. On average, he played 5.43 strokes better than his JGS scoring differential each round. Liu, who has a scoring differential of -0.49 evidently played a very solid tournament finishing T14 with rounds of 80-76-75. This performance was a significant boost to his ranking, as the 6.857 AJGA Rolex Points he collected was among his most ever. Surprisingly, four out of the top five best performers in this tournament came from the AM/PM wave. This is interesting because more simple scoring averages would suggest that the AM/PM wave had the worse side of the draw. Did the AM/PM players just do better? Maybe in golf, we do have to look beyond just scores.
