Team Difference Leaderboard from the 2024 Greenwood Cup.Â
The team difference metric is a new metric developed by Junior Golf Nerd for the best ball format that is seen at events such as the Greenwood Cup. The metric measures the disparity between the scores of each team, which would indicate how well the partners complimented each other. Generally, a higher difference would mean that a team worked really well together, meaning that partners are often making up for each other's bad holes. We can see that this metric is extremely important in the final results, as the top 3 teams in difference all finished inside the Top 5 of the event. The champions, Bennet Kuhns and Dylan Knox, also found themselves at the top of this leaderboard, as they complimented each other really well. Looking at the compatibility of partners through this perspective is a really interesting one, and could be strongly indicative of best ball performance in the future.
