The Performance leaderboard from the 2024 AJGA Rolex Tournament of Champions
This year's hallmark AJGA event certainly yielded many interesting results in terms of performance. We can start by identifying the tournament's winner, Miles Russell from Jacksonville, Florida. Russel's dominant play in San Antonio puts him near the top of the Performance leaderboard despite his already stellar JGS scoring differential. We can also see that three of the top five performers were from Florida. While this is not enough of a sample size, this trend may stem from the adaptability of Florida players to the Bermuda grass of TPC San Antonio, as we identified in the Junior Players earlier this year. Another unusual trend from this data is the significant disparity with previous performances. For example, the Junior Players yielded performances in the -6 to -7 range, while in this event, there were barely any performances in the negative range. This leads to the question-is JGS adjusted course rating fair?Â
