Recovery leaders in relation to their JGS Scoring Differential at the 2024 Bubba Conlee National Junior.
Recovery is a great way to measure mental fortitude, especially at this year's Bubba Conlee where the first round consisted of extremely harsh weather conditions. Graham Patton of Tuscaloosa, Alabama was the epitome of this metric, as he did 13.5 strokes on average in the final rounds compared to his first round. Patton, who started his campaign with a poor round of 93, recovered with rounds of 80 and 79 in the final two days. Patton's JGS scoring differential is -0.89, so while he recovered from his rough start extremely well, he still have a relatively poor tournament when compared to his capabilities. Remember, recovery can only tell us about mental ability and not necessarily much else.
